Donielle Jenkins, MS
Licensed Professional Counselor
Hi! I’m Donielle Jenkins, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor. I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Rehabilitation, Social Work, and Addictions from The University Of North Texas in 2000. I began my clinical experience with brain injury survivors and their families offering support and rehabilitation services. In 2003 I graduated with my Masters Degree in Counseling from The University Of North Texas and spent six years counseling victims of crime, abuse and severe trauma in a non-profit setting. During this time I also worked in court advocacy and batterers intervention. My next transition was to another non-profit agency to work as an intensive outpatient clinician for individuals with addictions and dual diagnoses. During this time I started to provide psychotherapy to individuals in a private setting part time. Building my private practice was so rewarding that I moved to only providing services as a clinician in my private practice the last sixteen years. I'm grateful to have counseled clients with diverse needs and various stages in their life. Being a part of my clients' healing is such a gift.
I believe life is a continuous learning experience. Every obstacle presents a greater opportunity to grow and change. There are times in our lives when it's helpful to speak with someone objective and who will listen with an empathetic ear. I am inspired to assist individuals through life's adversities, and to provide counseling to enable their growth. I work with teens and adults, and provide individual and couples therapy. I provide a safe and confidential place to explore my client's strengths and support them in gaining a more positive life experience. Life changes can be stressful and scary however, you don't have to move through it alone. Let's talk and allow me to walk alongside you.
I use an eclectic approach to therapy that meets my client where they are. Traditionally, I pull from cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and humanistic therapies. It is my job to guide you in realizing your goals and assist you through the process of accomplishing them.
Therapy is one avenue where you can create healthier relationships, a greater capacity for intimacy, and breathe in the enjoyment of life. I believe that there is always hope of feeling better and living happier. This can be you, if you are willing and ready to take the steps. I hope to hear from you!
When I'm not working, I often provide social services in our community. Im involved with The Survivors Of Suicide Foundation where Ive volunteered group services and psychoeducation as well as peer support. I also volunteer teaching summer camps, and served on the crisis team for The Red Cross. I am an active leader in my local school district and enjoy being involved with school activities. My top priority and pleasure is spending time with my family and friends who brighten every day.
