Stacy Ramsey, MA, EAS-C
Licensed Professional Counselor

My name is Stacy Ramsey, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I completed my undergraduate degree with a Bachelors in Education at John Brown University in 1992. In 2015 I achieved my dream of completing my Masters of Arts in Counseling at Le Tourneau University. My experiences range from volunteer work at Lena Pope, Behavioral Health and Family Services, and The Right Step working with addiction recovery at every level of care; from Residential, Partial Hospitalization to Intensive Outpatient. The last 3 years I have used my eclectic experiences in private practice at Life Tree Counseling Center. I am thrilled for this new transition here at Building  Harmony Counseling as I am pressing into all that new transitions have to offer!

Transitions are the opportunities that connect us to the next chapter in our lives, and the  pathways into new beginnings. Life is full of them. Some will appear when we are in  crisis and others surface during a season of peace and security. Transitions span the entire gamut of emotion and challenge us to answer the question, “who am I”.

My story is full of transitions, some wonderfully welcomed and others that have brought me to my knees. In each, I learned something about myself that has made managing the next season a bit clearer and offered insight into things I never understood before.  Often we fail to realize that while change can be a little scary, or painful, or both, it’s normal. In fact, it’s the only thing that fosters growth. It wasn’t always a natural thing for me to do, in fact I’m still learning. I had to realize first that change is normal and spurs  us to re-access our purpose, inspires growth and transitions us into the next chapter of  our lives.

My greatest joy as a therapist is cultivating anticipation in transition, to foster growth and find or renew individual purpose. In every season of life there lies the opportunity to learn and adapt as new insight into ‘self’ is gained. Life gets in the way with distractions, hardships, and burnout that hinder motivation to move forward. I look forward to walking with each client to define their personal identity, empower them to build a greater understanding of who they are and craft with purpose who they wish to become. Creating new ways to cope and manage emotions is the key to finding balance within ourselves. There is freedom to be found in tapping into your story with a sense of curiosity that evokes greater understanding and clarity.

“Life is, at it’s very simplest, a never-ending series of transitions,

each having its own magical effect on the sum

of all transitions we have yet to experience!”
