My name is Mary Hinkle, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been working in the counseling field since 1991 in various capacities. I received my Master of Education in Counseling from The University of North Texas in 1990. I began working as a counselor in partner abuse (Domestic Violence) at the Arlington Women’s Shelter Outreach Clinic. I then took an Employee Assistance Program and First Offender Education position at Dallas Challenge where I saw clients, taught parent and teen First Offender Education programs and provided seminars to our client’s employees on many topics. I then moved on to CIGNA Behavioral Health and learned the intricacies of case management, both outpatient and inpatient. I spent 7 years at CIGNA and was promoted to Clinical Administrator and was responsible for the day to day running of the clinical department. I then began working at Magellan Health Services and served for a number of years as Manager of Clinical Services. I stayed with Magellan for 19 years.

I believe that each client has their own individual perspective and experience and I work patiently to help clients set and move towards goals that will help them have a more peaceful and fulfilling life.  Feeling stuck in life is a profoundly uncomfortable place to be and my goal to support and empower clients to reach their full potential. Everyone deserves to live their lives in this manner and it is rewarding for me to help clients achieve this.

I have experience working with clients who need assistance and support in many different types of difficulties. I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families as well in the group setting. When working with adolescents I spend time with the parents and teen to get a full picture of what their particular struggles are and how they can be resolved. Most situations involve some parent coaching along with boosting teen self-awareness of their values and goals.
